"UN Resolution or no UN resolution, US and British spies have been coordinating war for oil for some time
Steve Watson, Prisonplanet.com, March 31, 2011
The corporate mainstream media has just caught up to the reality of the situation in Libya that we have been reporting for weeks. Before any no fly zones, NATO involvement or UN resolutions, US and British intelligence and special forces were on the ground inside Libya, coordinating the uprising against Gaddafi and waging a covert war.
Last night’s revelation that Obama signed a secret presidential finding weeks ago authorizing the CIA to supply weapons and assistance to Libyan rebels, is just the tip of the iceberg..."

"All All of this men are War Criminals and all of these men are aware that the use of WMD’s (depleted uranium) is in violation of the Geneva Convention
How can the UN Secretary General (or should that be the US Secretary General) authorize “ALL NECESSARY FORCE” to protect the people of Libya when the very use of such weapons will kill thousands in a very slow and painful way? How can Ban Ki-moon allow the US, UK and NATO to go on another turkey shoot on the scale that we have seen over the last 10 days? How can the UN even authorize war when it is supposed to avoid conflict? Now we have this so called handover from US control to NATO control but for the time being the US and UK are firing off as much DU as they possibly can before this event actually becomes an operational reality. The US, UK, France and coalition air superiority is intentionally aiding the rebel army to push forward in a very unbalanced conflict………it is like fighting someone with their hand tied behind their backs…….how can this fragmented, undisciplined small army achieve anything without the support of the west and the backdoor supply of military equipment from over the border (Egypt)…"

"While a parade of politicians and pundits cite the 'international community,' the UN, and the 'Arab street' as giving them the justification to not only wage illegal war on Libya, but to threaten illegal war against Syria as well, it should be remembered that it was neither the UN nor the 'international community' that laid the ground work for this campaign.
What started out, supposedly, as spontaneous, simultaneous uprisings across the Middle East, has transformed clearly into an aggressive Western-backed blitzkrieg of destabilization and regime change. This was a plan that was years in the making, talked about in 2007 by then, presidential hopeful, CFR member, and International Crisis Group trustee Wesley Clark..."

"The Bombing of Civilian Targets:
The objective is not to come to the rescue of civilians.
Quite the opposite. Both military as well as civilian targets have been pre-selected.
Civilian casualties are intentional. They are not the result of 'collateral damage'.
Early reports confirm that hospitals, civilian airports and government buildings have been bombed.
Within hours of the air attacks, a Libyan government health official 'said the death toll from the Western air strikes had risen to 64 on Sunday after some of the wounded died.' The number of wounded was of the order of 150. (Montreal Gazette, Gadhafi hurls defiance as allied forces strike Libya, March 19, 2011).
The death toll resulting from aerial bombings and missile attacks (March 24) is of the order of 100 civilians, according to Libyan government sources ( UN Chief Expects Int'l Community to Avoid Civilian Casualties in Libya, March 25, 2011)
These deaths resulting from US-NATO missiles and aerial bombings are either denied or casually dismissed as `collateral damage`. According to British Foreign Secretary William Hague modern humanitarian warfare does result in civilian deaths, a totally absurd proposition:
'This operation has been doing what it was meant to do, protect the civilian population of Libya, and there is no confirmed evidence of any casualties at all, civilian casualties, caused by the coalition strikes on the Gaddafi regime,' (British Foreign Secretary William Hague, No evidence of civilian casualties in Libya strikes: UK | Reuters, March 25, 2011)
US Defense Secretary Robert Gates confirms that 'The coalition is going to great lengths to avoid civilian casualties and most of the targets are air defence targets isolated from populated areas.' (West trying to avoid Libyan civilian deaths: Robert Gates - World - DNA, March 22, 2011)
The objective of the media disinformation campaign is to blatantly obfuscate the loss of life of civilians. Western media reports on casualties are heavily convoluted. Tomahawk missiles and aerial bombings are upheld as instruments of peace and democracy. They do not result in civilian deaths.
Without media disinformation, the legitimacy of the military operation under R2P would collapse like a deck of card.
Several hundred people gather at a funeral. The latter is dismissed as Qadhafi propaganda..."

"...the French and British had been preparing the operation in Libya since November 2010..."
When America goes to war, managed news goes with it spreading rumors, half-truths, misinformation, and willful deception about targeted nations, regimes and leaders, whether despots or democrats. Whoever first said it, the first casualty of war is truth, and then some as John Pilger once observed saying:
"Journalism is the first casualty. Not only that: it has become a weapon of war, a virulent censorship (and willful misreporting) that goes unrecognised in the United States, Britain and other democracies; censorship by omission, whose power is such that, in war, it can mean the difference between life and death for people in faraway countries...."

'Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Wasn't it Israel that sent 50,000 African mercenaries into Libya? So... aren’t the NATO coalition now bombing, strafing and tomahawking Israel’s mercenaries? Meanwhile, isn’t the reason that the assaults didn't stop (possibly Gadhafi doesn't have control) is because Israel is in control of them? There's a whole lot of irony here. Someday, lambs will suck in vengeance at the teats of irony.
Now... it's been acknowledged that Israeli security was in charge of the Fukishima nuclear plant. The plant didn't automatically shut down as it should have. The Stuxnet was confirmed in the computer systems near Fukushima and the US and Israel have publicly taken credit for inventing it? Please correct me if I am wrong.
If this is true then the two major negative events, presently taking place on this beleaguered Earth are both, likely Israeli instigated disasters. Israel did 9/11. Israel was the driving force behind all the major conflicts of the last decade and Israel is the main bass drum behind the march to attack Iran. Israel is bad news.'
Imperial War on Libya - by Stephen Lendman
On March 19, ironically on the eighth anniversary of "Operation Iraqi Freedom," a White House Office of the Press Secretary quoted Obama saying:
"Today I authorized the Armed Forces of the United States to (attack) Libya in support of an international effort to protect Libyan civilians," he, in fact, doesn't give a damn about. "That action has now begun," he added, claiming military action was a last resort.
In fact, it was long-planned. All military interventions require months of preparation, including target selections, strategy, enlisting political and public support, troop deployments, and post-conflict plans.
Weeks, maybe months in advance, Special Forces, CIA agents, and UK SAS operatives were in Libya, enlisting, inciting, funding, and arming so-called anti-Gaddafi opposition forces, ahead of Western aggression for imperial control. More on it below.
A March 19 Department of Defense (DOD) Armed Forces Press Service release announced America's led "Operation Odyssey Dawn," saying:
"Coalition (of the willing) forces launched "Operation Odyssey Dawn" today to enforce UN Security Council Resolution 1973 to protect the Libyan people from the country's ruler....Today we are part of a broad coalition. We are answering the calls of a threatened people."
False! In fact, Washington-led naked aggression was launched to replace one despot with another, perhaps assassinate Gaddafi, his sons and top officials, colonize Libya, control its oil, gas and other resources, exploit its people, private state industries under Western (mainly US) control, establish new Pentagon bases, use them for greater regional dominance, perhaps balkanize the country like Yugoslavia and Iraq, and prevent any democratic spark from emerging…
'So what do they know that is so secret?
They are all guilty of war crimes knowing they have all authorized the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) against innocent civilians and our own military forces to a level bordering on mass genocide.
Many of the weapons used, especially those used against tanks (armour piercing) and those used against hard targets (Cruise Missiles & Bunker Busters) all contain uranium components such as Penetrators, Shaped Charged Liners and as a counterweight most of which is made up of Depleted Uranium.
All weapons that contain Depleted Uranium weapons are recognized as radioactive poison gas weapons and thus violate the Geneva Convention under the 1925 Geneva Poison Gas Protocol.'

A country battling an armed rebellion within its own borders (instigated by the CIA) does not warrant outside interference. The establishment of a ‘no-fly zone’ does not include conducting ground attacks on tanks and armour. It is murder and cowardly to send a 21st Century fire-power against a country with only 1970’s weaponry. Yet again the bully-boys pit themselves against a defenceless country at the whim of the New World Order.
If it was humanitarian concern, we would also be bombing Bahrain, who were brutally killing their peaceful protesters! There is also plenty of other countries with brutal leaders – Zimbabwe for example. We only attack countries if there is a hidden agenda.
The modern mass media just jumps on the bandwagon with gung-ho rhetoric and unsubstantiated rumour as fact – exactly the same as before, when it was time to bomb Serbia, Afghanistan and Iraq!!!

This is not a non-violent protest movement as in Egypt and Tunisia. Conditions in Libya are fundamentally different. The armed insurgency in Eastern Libya is directly supported by foreign powers. David Rothscum Reports: Libyan insurgents begin to reverse decades of progress in African cooperation
"As I have sought to explain here before, the Libyan rebels are not what we consider them to be. Now, before I get the accusation thrown at me that I paint the Libyan rebels with a wide brush, I want to make it clear that not all Libyan rebels share the same goals, motives and behavior.
Gadaffi has sought to emancipate the African continent from centuries of exploitation by outside forces. Mistakes have surely been made, but I can only assume that Gadaffi has the best of intentions. As I mentioned before, Gadaffi blames the emergence of AIDS on American experimentation with biological weapons. Gadaffi is a driving force behind the African Union and other projects that seek to attempt to emancipate the African continent and end the continual division of the continent by outside forces through divide and conquer techniques...

And the mainstream media – who bravely refer to themselves as ‘journalists’ – never call them out on this blatant contradiction and deceit because some are knowingly working for the same force that controls the politicians while most of the rest, the overwhelming majority, are just bloody gutless or useless, often both..."

"Images from space suggest attack was contrived to create pretext for “humanitarian” military intervention
Paul Joseph Watson
Wednesday, March 2, 2011
The Russian military claims that the supposed air strikes launched by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi against protesters last week did not happen, suggesting that the key event seized upon by the global media as a justification for a “humanitarian” military intervention was a contrived hoax.
According to Russia Today correspondent Irina Galushko, top officials from Russia’s Joint Chiefs of Staff monitoring images from space satellites have concluded that, “Some of the reports made by western media are not entirely corresponding to the pictures they are getting.”
Specifically, the supposed air strikes that took place on February 22 over Benghazi and Tripoli, which were widely reported by the likes of the BBC and Al Jazeera, were not registered by the Russian military chiefs studying the images coming in from the satellites..."
